Imprisonment

What is the worst persecution?
To be nakedly present in the world
Or to disappear in your own shadows
Lying, swearing, biting your lips in anxiety
Could it get worse than to have a mother
Or a father as your worst imprisonment
To struggle barefoot on a desert
Desert of unacknowledged identity
To be an honest ant in the spying lions
To be yourself, to be who you are naturally
What is the worst persecution?
The fastest way to die unknowingly
Life imprisonment carves skulls
Our skulls were rotten with the truth
Our smells have spread into their bedrooms
Of those who made laws and blinded the statues
My longest imprisonment is my body
My shortest memory is of my vagina
It’s been the subject of the state
The society, the men but never mine
History has taught one thing forever
The only imprisonment is myself
Waiting to come out and wanting to come in
