I dream of a home

In a poor town,

Where stray dogs rest

And cats hide kittens

Where we cry aloud

And silence is our conversation

Where you are

Where I am

I dream of a home

In a poor town,

The gates could be yellow

Or any ink you like - even colorless

Where your skin ages

the number of times you have loved

I hope only once

But not me, not me

I hope you have loved

Only once but many times

I dream of a home

in a poor town,

It’s a home of poetry

Books and movies

Of all the people

You like

I dream of a home

In a poor town,

Where clocks tick-tock

The more you smile

Where we laugh hard

But love gently

Where you speak

And I listen

In a home in a poor town

Of poor lovers,

You and Me
